Brit Systems' clinical context object workgroup-enabled workstation, Brit Lite, uses vendor-independent HL7 CCOW standards to enable the viewing of medical images and reports within a patient context set by disparate clinical applications at the point of care. Lite integrates multivendor and multispecialty applications with a single interface, single log-on, and sharing of patient context information among different applications associated with the electronic medical record.
Users do not need to log onto Brit’s database and search for patient images; if the user changes patients within the application, it will change this "patient context" back in the original application or other applications accessed from Lite. Clinicians can log into the patient record in one application to access clinical data across the enterprise.
