October 31, 2007 - NDS Surgical Imaging was named this week as the recipient of the 2007 North American Frost and Sullivan Award for Technology Leadership in the medical display market.

NDS Surgical Imaging has built on its success in the surgical display market to become a major player in the medical display market. It has assessed surgeons’ needs and delivers several technologically advanced devices.

Frost and Sullivan also said NDS is a leading adopter of high definition (HD) technology in video surgery suites. It provides novel features for numerous HD video applications. Although adept at catering to existing market needs, NDS’ true calling is the development and implementation of technology for new market requirements.

One of these latest demands is for a unified, flexible display of multiple images on a single interface to facilitate on-demand retrieval of certain reference images during surgical procedures. NDS developed such next-generation technologies, which have begun to be included in other display technologies for use during noninvasive surgeries.

NDS also participates in the medical imaging and patient monitoring segments and has a strong standing in the bigger and more competitive picture archiving and communication system (PACS) imaging market. Judges also said NDS is successful in the patient monitoring display space because it offers excellent technologies with the latest touch screen capabilities as well as audio alarms.

Each year Frost and Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in technology leadership within its industry. The recipient company has shown technology leadership by excelling in all stages of the technology life cycle - incubation, adaptation, take-up, and maturity - to ensure a continuous flow of improvements. By innovating leading-edge concepts, the company has pioneered client applications.
