October 24, 2023 — Reseller partners, IMAGE Information Systems (iQ IMAGE), headquartered in Rostock, Germany, and aycan Medical Systems, headquartered in Rochester, N.Y., join again at RSNA this November to demonstrate the latest innovations in their complementary portfolios of advanced imaging solutions that support any platform. This year, the partners will feature iQ-ROUTER 5.0, which drastically improves long-distance, high-speed encrypted DICOM data transmission.

“To support the growth of international teleradiology, we’ve enhanced and added new features to our iQ-ROUTER,” said Dr. Arpad Bischof, Director IMAGE Information Systems Europe. “Version 5.0 specifically addresses the privacy, security, and infrastructure challenges faced with international and other long-distance data transmission, ultimately improving transmission speed and accuracy.”

Key features of iQ-ROUTER 5.0 include near real-time communication, up to 20x faster than a regular VPN-based transmission; automatic prefetch of relevant prior studies without time-intensive query and human error; anonymization of data and deanonymization of results to meet privacy regulations of involved countries; and the use of DICOM TLS protocol instead of VPNs to ensure passing some national firewalls.

“iQ-ROUTER 5.0 is a great addition to the iQ IMAGE portfolio,” said Frank Burkhardt, aycan Managing Director, North & Latin American Operations. “Their Windows-based solutions continue to be a perfect complement to our Mac and Linux-based portfolio, which enables both our companies to offer customers solutions for a complete workflow.”

Additional features of iQ-ROUTER 5.0 include the ability to collect data from an unlimited number of places (cloud computing), discern the difference between similar content/words, and automatize most complex routing rules.

“Innovations from both our companies, like iQ-ROUTER 5.0, help us to further expand our growing businesses,” said Mike Jensen, Director of IMAGE Information Systems’ North American operations. “We look forward to future innovations generated from our growing relationship with aycan and the higher levels of capability and value we’ll be able to deliver to our global customers.”

In 2021, iQ IMAGE and aycan expanded their long-standing reseller relationship to include offering each other’s entire portfolios and conducting joint product development. This year at RSNA, their joint booth in South Hall, Level 3, #1908, will feature the iQ-ROUTER 5.0, which is now available.
