In the wake of recent ransomware attacks on the healthcare industry, RamSoft will showcase its secure cloud-based imaging and workflow solutions and HIPAA-compliant Patient Portal and Instant Messaging feature

RamSoft has been a proponent of the cloud since over a decade; the reason – patient data protection

November 18, 2019 — A recent report by security firm Emsisoft stated that at least 621 government entities, healthcare service providers and school districts, colleges and universities in the United States were affected by ransomware in the first nine months of 2019. Another IBM study reported that data breaches cost the healthcare sector $6.5 million on average. Despite these alarming numbers, many healthcare providers still choose to risk their patient data on-premise.

RamSoft has been a proponent of the cloud since over a decade; the reason – patient data protection. “We are a patient care company, not just a software company. Patient data protection is part of patient care,” said Vijay Ramanathan, CEO and founder. With RamSoft’s solutions hosted on Microsoft’s Azure cloud, customers are guaranteed a secure data-center, 24/7 server monitoring by Microsoft and 99.99 percent up-time. “Our solutions are designed in the best interest of patients and our customers. We’re happy that our customers appreciate the benefits of our cloud solutions,” Al Kappel, director of global sales, said.

As of today, RamSoft has successfully migrated 39 percent customers to the cloud and witnessed a 45 percent increase in requests for their cloud solutions.

While the process of transitioning customers to the cloud is easy execution for RamSoft, some have misconceptions about the cloud including that it's not affordable and will cause them to lose control of their data. RamSoft put these myths to rest in their recent webinar co-hosted with Microsoft by explaining the security, scalability and cost-effectiveness of the cloud.

This year’s RSNA will offer the opportunity for attendees to see RamSoft’s solutions in action and understand how the cloud would benefit their practice. “Whether you are an imaging center, teleradiology group or a hospital of any size, we have a solution that fits your needs and your budget. Visit us at South Hall, Booth 1542,” said David Castellano, regional sales manager.
