Solution will allow their radiologists to read from any location for any of their affiliates

October 24, 2016 — Intelerad Medical Systems recently announced that Radiology Consultants of Iowa (RCI) has selected InteleOne XE as their interoperability workflow platform.

“Intelerad hit all the high marks in terms of the things we were looking for, which made the decision easy,” said Joe Moore, CIO, RCI. “We liked what we saw in terms of their feature set, and when we spoke to long-term customers, they rated Intelerad’s support amongst the best that they work with.”

The largest private practice in Iowa, RCI reads 600,000 studies per year for 23 affiliates across 40 locations, most of which are medium-sized and critical access hospitals. Headquartered out of Cedar Rapids, the organization has grown significantly over the past 12 years, doubling in both the number of radiologists on staff, as well as study volume.

By deploying InteleOne XE, RCI’s clinicians will use a single worklist and viewer to access patient images and reports stored across their affiliate’s disparate hospital information systems (HIS), electronic medical records (EMR), picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) and vendor neutral archive (VNA) systems. This will enable them to leverage a cross-enterprise imaging workflow, which will improve subspecialist utilization and collaboration amongst care teams so they can help deliver higher quality care in less time.

“InteleOne XE is the ideal solution to support our cross-enterprise model,” said Moore. “The workflows that the solution provides will allow our radiologists to read from any location for any of their affiliates, which will increase efficiencies and help us provide greater value service to our customers.”
