October 12, 2023 — Global health technology company Qure.ai has named Samir S. Shah, MD, MMM, FACR, as its Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr. Shah will lead the company's clinical growth, clinical development and U.S. expansion.

"His extensive teleradiology and healthcare leadership experience and innovative drive align with our mission to revolutionize healthcare with AI,” said Prashant Warier, Co-Founder and CEO of Qure.ai in welcoming Shah. He added, “We look forward to his contributions as we continue developing cutting-edge solutions for improving patient care and outcomes.”

According to the announcement, Shah brings over 20 years of experience as a practicing radiologist, having most recently served as Chief Clinical Officer of Teleradiology and Senior Vice President of Radiology at Envision Healthcare. Previously, he held critical roles in teleradiology, including Medical Director at NightHawk Radiology Services and Senior Medical Director at Virtual Radiologic (vRad). In 2018, he became Vice President of Clinical Operations at Radiology Partners, helping to build the Matrix Teleradiology group. The statement also noted that Shah served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA, and brings experience as an interventional radiologist having completed residency training at the University of Pennsylvania and fellowship at Northwestern University.

Further, Shah's appointment enhances Qure.ai's leadership in the healthcare AI industry, as he brings his wealth of knowledge and dedication to advancing healthcare through technology.

For his part, Shah expressed his enthusiasm, stating: "I am thrilled to join Qure.ai, a company at the forefront of healthcare innovation. Qure.ai's commitment to enhancing patient care through AI aligns with my passion to leverage technology and adoption of AI into the specialty of radiology."

In addition to his medical accolades, Shah holds a Master of Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a professional executive certificate in Artificial Intelligence from MIT's Sloan School of Management.
