June 26, 2009 - CIVCO Medical Solutions introduces a new disposable endocavity needle guide for Hitachi EUP-CC531 and EUP-V53W ultrasound transducers, currently compatible with Hitachi HI VISION 900, HI VISION 5500, HI VISION 6500, HI VISION 8500 and the new HI VISION Preirus ultrasound systems. The needle guide is engineered to provide imaging professionals with a fixed path of guidance and a standard of increased accuracy in transrectal and transvaginal biopsy procedures.
Guiding instruments according to on-screen guidelines, the use of a needle guide aids in improved procedural efficiencies, leading to better patient care.

Packaged in convenient procedure kits, CIVCO’s easy-to-use, single-piece needle guides snap securely to the transducer locating features and will not compromise cover integrity during set-up. The over-molded design of the needle guide features zero needle resistance, offering smooth movement and navigation during puncture procedures.
Increasing patient and physician safety, the disposable design of the guide reduces the risks associated with cross-contamination and also aids in easy clean-up between procedures. CIVCO’s needle guide features a large funnel for instrument insertion and accepts 16-18 gauge instruments.
