RSNA22: Empowering Patients and Partners in Care

This year’s theme is Empowering Patients and Partners in Care, and will illustrate the dynamic role imaging plays in disease management and multidisciplinary collaboration. The meeting takes place Nov. 27-Dec. 1 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

For many, November brings with it the start of the holiday season, and also the much-anticipated Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) annual conference. This year’s theme is Empowering Patients and Partners in Care, and will illustrate the dynamic role imaging plays in disease management and multidisciplinary collaboration. The meeting takes place Nov. 27-Dec. 1 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

RSNA President Bruce G. Haffty, MD, said in a written statement that the meeting “… will strive to raise awareness among our patients and our multidisciplinary partners, regarding the value of radiology to the health of the people in our care.”

The event will feature more than 400 educational courses and scientific sessions from all subspecialties, in addition to over 100 industry presentations and demonstrations on the latest products, trends and innovations. Program highlights will focus on radiology’s role at the heart of patient care, and the radiologist’s role in creating a healthcare environment tailored to patient needs. Haffty will address this topic in his President’s Address, Shining Light on the Patient Perspective.

“From reducing uncertainty and anxiety to empowering patients with knowledge and giving them a greater sense of control, the value of imaging to our patients is often underestimated among radiologists, and certainly among other members of the healthcare team,” Haffty said in a written statement. You can view the schedule for the President’s Address, along with the entire educational program, at https://www.rsna.org/annual-meeting/program.

The show floor this year will include more than 600 exhibitors, including 87 first-time exhibitors, making it even larger than last year’s meeting. New this year, the show floor will host “Last Call in the Exhibit Halls” on Wednesday, Nov. 30, from 2 to 4 p.m., where participating exhibitors will be serving refreshments at their booths and offering attendees one last chance to view new products and technologies, as well as to celebrate the success of RSNA22.

Imaging Technology News (ITN) will again be exhibiting at RSNA22, so please stop by Booth 1840 in the South Hall and tell us about the trends and new ideas you are discovering at the conference. We look forward to seeing you there.
