EOS Full Body Orthopedic Imaging System Now Available in 10 North American Centers

November 30, 2011 — EOS Imaging announced that installation of its flagship system has been completed at NYU Langone Medical Center, a world-class patient-centered integrated academic medical center. The clinical use of EOS is planned for early 2012. The full body, ultra-low dose 3-D orthopedic imaging system is already available in 10 North American medical centers. It is used to perform radiological examinations for the management and surgical planning of common orthopedic conditions such as scoliosis and joint disease.

EOS allows for a single, full body or localized image with an ultra-low dose; the dose is documented to be up to nine times less than conventional computed radiography (CR) systems and more than 100 times below that of one computed tomography (CT) scan. The technology provides 3-D imaging of the patient skeleton and automatically calculates a broad range of clinical parameters essential to diagnosis and surgical planning. Images can be obtained in standing or seated weight-bearing positions to reflect the bone and joint status of the patient’s posture.

EOS Imaging will display its full body scanning system in its booth (#5454) at RSNA 2011.
