Medical information exchange solution adds push-button simplicity enabling quick, HIPAA-compliant image and file transfer to any physician or facility

Oct. 23,2014 — DR Systems adds a new capability to eMix, its HIPAA-compliant, cloud-based medical information exchange platform. Now, patients and physicians can upload medical information - including large diagnostic imaging files - simply and securely with the click of a button that can be placed on any healthcare provider's website.

The new eMix secure Web link upload capability provides speed and convenience combined with HIPAA-compliant security. Patients click on a clearly marked "Upload it Securely with eMix" button to upload images and other medical records. eMix automatically identifies and transmits all files to the designated recipient. All transmissions are protected by eight layers of security protection.

Seattle Children's Hospital has been an eMix customer since 2010.

Specialists such as orthopedists, neurologists, oncologists, and spine surgeons may see patients from referring providers in multiple care systems. Instead of waiting for film or files on CD or DVD from patients, those specialists can now put the eMix button on their websites so patients can upload medical information and images via the cloud solution. The receiving physician or facility can manage and view the images and files using the included Web-based, zero-download viewer.

eMix is designed to be the core image exchange solution for medical facilities and physician practices. The cloud-based platform is currently used by hundreds of medical facilities nationwide to transmit over 15,000 images and related data files per month.
