3D4Medical integration into mobile EHR lets medical practices show 3-D anatomical modeling on iPad and use Apple Pencil for drawing and cross-sections

DrChrono and 3D4Medical Partner to Bring 3-D Interactive Modeling to Physician Practices

March 18, 2019 – DrChrono Inc. and 3D4Medical have teamed up so practices across the United States can access 3-D interactive modeling and animation videos from within their electronic health record (EHR) to better educate patients.

Now physician practices using DrChrono’s mobile EHR platform can directly access 3D4Medical’s library of 3-D interactive models of anatomy across ophthalmology, orthopedics, dentistry, physical therapy, chiropractic and cardiology specialties. Using the iPad and Apple Pencil, physicians can now draw on these models and display cross-sections of the anatomy in 3-D to better educate patients about their conditions and recommend specific treatment plans. In addition, clinicians can access 3-D animation videos to give patients more detailed visuals and a deeper understanding of their condition.

This is the first time practices using DrChrono’s EHR can access 3-D interactive models and animation videos to educate their patients and inform them on treatment options.

“Accessing Complete Anatomy’s library of models and animation videos directly from DrChrono’s platform will make it easier for us to inform our patients about their condition and give them 3-D visuals to better understand the treatment plan,” said Jason Hunt, DO, board certified orthopedic surgeon and founder of OrthoLinks Orthopedics. “We’re excited for this integration and the ability to leverage the DrChrono platform from our iPad Pros to give our patients a clearer picture of their injury and how treatment will work.”
