Sony Medical Displays For Radiology SIIM 2014 Long Beach California

May 20, 2014 — Sony Electronics’ Medical Systems Division showcased a full line of medical grade monitors for radiology applications, including the LMD-DM50, LMD-DM30C and LMD-DM30 models, at the 2014 Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) meeting, in Long Beach, Calif.

The greyscale Sony displays shown at SIIM provide three times the monitor’s native resolution and use innovative Independent Sub-Pixel-Drive technology. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared for use in diagnosis of full field digital mammography (FFDM) exams where detailed viewing of micro-calcifications is possible, the technology enables the LMD-DM30 with Independent Sub-Pixel-Drive software installed on the modality to output 9-megapixel resolution, while the 5-megapixel LMD-DM50 is able to achieve a 15-megapixel resolution. In addition to being used for FFDM, the Independent Sub-Pixel-Drive creates superb image quality for viewing high-resolution diagnostic studies including computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR) images, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MR).

The LMD-DM30C is a 3 megapixel, color display with high resolution designed for accurate display of color and monochrome images such as positron emission tomography/CT (PET/CT), nuclear medicine, cardiology and ultrasound. With exceptional high luminance, high contrast and an integrated color calibration function, the LMD-DM30C delivers highly accurate color reproduction.

With full DICOM GSDF Part 14 conformance, automatic calibration, and remote monitoring and maintenance capabilities, the LMD-DM30C is well suited for medical imaging and radiology department picture archive and communications systems (PACS).
