July 21, 2016 — PTW New York announced it will display its Beamscan technology and the latest advancements in radiation dosimetry at the 2016 annual meeting of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), July 31-Aug. 4 in Washington, D.C.

Radiation therapy hinges on the precise calibration of radiation therapy equipment. When devices are imprecisely calibrated, patients can experience severe side effects and healthy tissue can be damaged.

According to the company, Beamscan is the first all-in-one, ready-to-use device that can be setup and take measurements in under 30 minutes. The AAPM show will be the first display of the product in North America.
