Company showcases new joint efforts with Siemens Healthineers and Carestream

December 5, 2016 — Materialise NV announced a pair of new partnerships for development of 3-D anatomical models with Siemens Healthineers and Carestream at the 2016 annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).

Siemens Healthineers will use Materialise Mimics technology to help healthcare providers bring 3-D printing operations in-house. Through this partnership, clinicians will be able to 3-D-print complex anatomical models directly from their Siemens environment. 

Carestream will leverage Materialise’s AnatomyPrint 3-D printing service to improve access to anatomical models for radiologists and other healthcare professionals. 

While many companies have seen the value of 3-D printing in recent years, many have only recently begun exploring the technology. Materialise has positioned itself as a partner for companies that are interested in the benefits of 3-D printing, but do not have the technical expertise and technology to implement full solutions for their customers.

In the medical industry, Materialise works with partners to deliver 3-D printed anatomical models that offer healthcare professionals tools to improve and personalize patient care. These models can be used in patient communication and to provide a tangible representations of the anatomy. Created using the right tools or qualified services, these models can also be valuable tools for planning complex surgeries.
