April 28, 2014 — GE Healthcare and Konica Minolta Medical Imaging are expanding their DR (digital radiography) retrofit distribution agreement of the AeroDR wireless panel to include a new digital upgrade solution for the GE Optima XR200amx mobile X-ray system. The announcement represents a continuation of the companies’ 2013 strategic alliance to provide hospitals an array of choices for upgrading to high-quality, digital wireless solutions.

“Konica Minolta Medical Imaging is pleased to continue expanding our partnership with GE Healthcare to new products,” said Diane Hunt, vice president, marketing, Konica Minolta. “A key component in our initial agreement was to provide our customers with choices that fulfill their clinical needs. This is clearly another important step in fulfilling that vision.”

The AeroDR, introduced as the world’s lightest, most compact wireless-type cassette digital X-ray device of its kind, is already in use in a wide range of medical workplaces, offering the advantages of high image quality and ease-of-use. It was designed for easy patient and image detector positioning while reducing patient discomfort and stress during portable procedures.

The Optima XR200amx mobile X-ray system is GE’s next extension of its mobile AMX family. This platform is the result of customer feedback and research on ease-of-use, productivity and clinical requirements. Key features include an intuitive all-in-one touch screen that helps simplify operations, additional room in the storage bin, and a smaller footprint with a more powerful generator compared to its predecessor.
