Statement of Purpose:
Performance of cardiac CT (CCTA) in the emergency department (ED) is rapidly becoming the standard-of-care in patients presenting to the ED with chest pain that are at low to intermediate risk for developing a major adverse cardiac event (MACE). This webinar will provide an overview of the basics of performing cardiac CT and review of the current guidelines.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the indications and contraindications of performing cardiac CT in patients presenting to the ED with chest pain.
- Analyze the current literature on cardiac CT.
- Describe appropriate patient preparation for cardiac CT.
- Describe technical CT aspects of low-radiation acquisition and image data processing with iterative reconstruction
- Interpret cardiac CT case examples
- Apply tips and tricks to achieve a more rapid workflow.
Intended Audience:
All cardiology and radiology staff.
